Who this site is for

Our forms are for students aged 13 and older and for adults, such as mentors, parents and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or teacher to contact us for you. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Contact messages

When you use the Get involved form, we collect your email address, the reason you chose, your message, your name if you give it, and whether you asked to join the newsletter. We use this only to read and reply to your message.

Messages are stored in our secure database and a copy is emailed to our team inbox. We keep contact messages for 24 months and then delete them.

Newsletter

Signing up for the newsletter asks for one thing: your email address. We keep it in our secure database so we can email you when the newsletter starts. The newsletter itself has not begun.

You are not added to the list until you open the email we send and click the confirmation link. That link works once and expires after 48 hours. This is how we know the address is really yours.

Every newsletter will include a way to unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that choice so we do not add you again. Ticking the newsletter box in a contact message is treated the same way: nothing is added until you confirm.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. If you visit from the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, a US state with its own consumer privacy law (such as California or Virginia), or a place we can't identify, analytics only runs after you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner; until then, no analytics cookies are set. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can turn it off anytime with Cookie preferences in the footer. We estimate your location from your connection only to make this choice and do not store it.

When analytics is on, Google sets cookies (such as _ga) that give your browser a number, and information about the pages you view is sent to Google and processed for us. You can turn analytics off anytime with Cookie preferences in the footer. Turning it off stops collection and removes analytics cookies from your device; information already collected is not erased by that choice.

The site always stores one necessary cookie, lamplight_consent, which remembers your analytics choice and the date for 180 days. It holds no identifier.

Services we use

Our website hosting, database and email delivery are provided by Lovable and its infrastructure providers, which process information on our behalf in the United States. Analytics, when you accept it, is provided by Google through Google Analytics, which mainly processes that information in the United States and collects it through centers near where you are. Fonts and images are served from this site. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information you sent us by emailing hey@lamplight.ventures. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date above.
